About the Archive & Research Heritage

Preserving two decades of independent patient-driven health journalism.

About ME/CFS was founded in the mid-2000s by citizen science pioneer Cort Johnson to bridge the vast gap between laboratory bench science and bed-bound patients. For over a decade, it served as the community's primary repository for clinical trial reporting, conference coverage (IACFS/ME), and legal disability assistance.

Following the 2020 SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the global medical community recognized that a substantial subset of Long COVID individuals suffer from post-viral autonomic and mitochondrial dysregulation identical to ME/CFS. This restored archive serves to keep foundational clinical knowledge permanently accessible, citeable, and searchable for clinicians, researchers, and patients worldwide.
